>> Yssandon

The origin of this farming village goes back to prehistoric times. From the Puy d'Yssandon flanked by its tower (remains of a medieval castle), the view takes in all the areas of Brive, Objat and the slopes of the Périgord.

Special features
14th-century tower. 12th-century Romanesque church, rebuilt in the 18th century, with sculpted capitals in the choir.

Two viewing tables from which you can admire to your heart's content the magnificent landscape stretching through Brive, Quercy, the Périgord and Haut Limousin.

The homeland of Jean-Baptiste Cabanis (1723-1786), lawyer and farmer then agronomist and writer, who perfected the technique of grafting trees and who worked to ensure that potato-growing became generalised.

A saying
« Eyssandou petita villa grand renou » - Yssandon, a small town of great renown
